BOOK REVIEW - FIREFIGHT

Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life more simple. Instead, it only made David realize he has questions. Big ones. And there's no one in Newcago who can give him the answers he needs.

Babylon Restored, the old borough of Manhattan, has possibilities, though. Ruled by the mysterious High Epic, Regalia, David is sure Babylon Restored will lead him to what he needs to find. And while entering another city oppressed by a High Epic despot is a gamble, David's willing to risk it. Because killing Steelheart left a hole in David's heart. A hole where his thirst for vengeance once lived. Somehow, he filled that hole with another Epic--Firefight. And he's willing to go on a quest darker, and more dangerous even, than the fight against Steelheart to find her, and to get his answers.
GOODREADS

Second book from The Reckoners Series by Brandon Sanderson. After freed the Newcago from high EPIC, now the team moved to other city to face another high EPIC. Like previous book, action and EPIC will be the interesting part. Also, this book will bring other character into the frame, Reckoners team and EPIC in New York or now it’s named Babylon Restored. Little secret about Calamity also will be appear here and further background about Prof will be surface within the story. If at first book we may be getting let down because the pace is decreasing when they planning to trap Steelheart, now in this second book the romance part became the bad part. It’s like I read a book about some high school loser falling love with cool girl and the girl finally notice him. In other word it’s lame. Another thing that I notice is less humor part than the first, the tone is more depressing. The good thing is Sanderson keep the story at high or medium pace, it better than the first book.

The title itself will give a bit spoiler if you haven’t read the first book because this book will be explained all things about that epic. So if you can, I recommend you to read the first book before. The ending become more appealing than the previous book, it gives us mix felling about one character (stop about the spoiler here :D). Sanderson give us the ending that will make us to wait impatiently to read the next book, he’s very good with this.  Aside the romance things, this book will rank high in my fantasy book list.

I give score for this book 4 out of 5.

Can’t wait for final book of this series next year.
