Just Villeneuve
sort of movie. Slow burning movie. After his success with Sicario the
director is back with sci-fi theme, but not like other sci-fi film he is
bring other color to the genre. The genre usually filled with war or
explosion or maybe thrill like in the Alien but this movie more about
the drama, the story about the connection between human and the other
species. The story can be little bit confusing for someone, with a lot
flashing pictures like a flashback or metaphor scene but what really
happened is it has a straight time line. Villeneuve
again came with great cinematography, full landscape of the alien ship
with mountain background or a view when the team aboard the ship for the
first time is really enjoyable moment to our eyes and for our ears,
they got many good scoring at the perfect place that will bring more
deep to the scene. Amy Adams give a great acting for her lead role in
the movie, it is her one (wo)man show. She will get award nomination for
this role I believe. On the other hand, the supporting actor like
Renner or Whitaker didn't had a chance to show their quality due their
lack of screen time. This movie will not satisfied all the audience, I
hear some of them even sleep in theater, but for other some it will
became a great experience and a pleasure journey to sci-fi genre.
Recommended to watch it in cinema with a big screen and good sound, we
can't waste such a quality that the filmmaker had done to make this
great movie.
