PRO WRESTLING REVIEW - WRESTLING KINGDOM 9

Posted in , Edit

I am a big fan of pro wrestling from WWE, TNA, ROH etc and i started widen my view to other country than US. Japan have a nice promotion in several years like NJPW, NOAH, All New Japan and for me NJPW is one of the top promotion there, maybe even in the world. Their involved in ROH PPV, War of the World (May 17, 2014), given them a big advertise for their promotion around the world.

So, when in beginning of 2015 they had a live PPV, first PPV lived broadcast outside the Japan I really excited. Joining with Global Force, Jeff Jarret Promotion, they we will bring other dimension for pro wrestling fans. It also has a Jim Ross and Matt Striker as commentary to non Japan fans audience.

Let's begin with the card...

reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) (c) VS. Forever Hooligans (Alex Koslov and Rocky Romero) VS. Time Splitters (Alex Shelley and Kushida) VS. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) [IWGP Jr. Tag Team]

Great PPV with great opening match.
The four of them, maybe are the best tag team in entire promotion.
We couldn't forget how great reDRagon - Young Buck rivalries in ROH, joined Shelly-Kushida with fast technical wrestling, and Forever Hooligans will give brawl to this match. Damn!!!! Can't wait for this match.
It was fast pace match from the start, we maybe didn't even know who is the legal man in this match. A lot of high fly move and of course double move, and if you get the invitation it's also Superkick Party!!!

Let the pics talk...

Here's you defending champion, Bobby Fish!!

I believe i can fly...

SUPER KICK!!!!!

Great double team moves..

and Finally...
CHASING THE DRAGON!!!!

and still IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champion
reDRagon

What an amazing match, it will set the bar high for remaining match...

next...

Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Tomoaki Honma VS Bad Luck Fale, Jeff Jarrett and Yujiro Takahashi

This event cooperated with Global Force promotion so, it's no surprise when Jeff Jarret was taking a match in this PPV. He came as member of Bullet Club with Bad Luck Fale and Takahashi. The opponent is TenKoji (Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima) and Honma. Honma is veteran wrestler with no high achievement so far and this match to show what he can do with his Headbutt moves (he do a lot headbutt btw). Nothing special in this match until Jeff brought his guitar and hit his teammate accidentally. Honma taken an advantage and delivered a flying headbutt from top of the rope.

Winner: Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Tomoaki Honma

Toru Yano, Naomichi Marufuji, & TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste) VS. Suzuki-gun (Davey Boy Smith Jr., Lance Archer, Shelton Benjamin & Takashi Iizuka)

It's rare to see other promotion to competed in rival PPV promotion but, this what happened here. NOAH promotion was given a match here for 8-man tag team match. Their champions, Naomichi Marufuji, was involved here too. So much hope for this match but it didn't happened, but that TMDK guys show some potential to become big someday. It was quick match with Marufuji end the match with his finishing move.

Nice Choke Slam from Lance Archer

Winner: Toru Yano, Naomichi Marufuji, & TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste)

Kazushi Sakuraba VS. Minoru Suzuki

Two MMA legends in Japan face each other with UWFI Rules Match, which mean match can only be won by KO, submission or referee stoppage. I am not a fans of UFC things, so i didn't too excited with this match, no offense for the fans. The match was fulled with submission move, they fight from the ring then using rope as help even in the ram. Sakuraba used many strike attack to tear Suzuki but always failed to make him give up. Suzuki finally could made counter attack with sleeper that made Sakuraba passed out. After the match they given each other a respect.

Respect from both legends

Winner: Minoru Suzuki

Tomohiro Ishii (c) VS. Togi Makabe [NEVER Openweight Championship]

Battle between two hit-hitter at the Japan Pro Wrestling. Forget about Big Show - Henry match, battle of two big man should be like this. Brutal match if I have to say, many lariat, forearm, suplex variation, head butt even numerous top rope move. Chemistry between both wrestler is good, they could delivered mind games throughout the match using psychological attack against their opponent. This battle of guts was won by Togi Makabe after hit with top rope knee drop. I glad that I had a opportunity to see this match.

Top rope Fireman carry

Winner: Togi Makabe [New Champion]

Ryusuke Taguchi (c) vs. Kenny Omega [IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship]

Omega came to ring accompanied with Young Buck as member of Bullet Club. High pace match but after NEVER Title match is no where close to previous match. Taguchi attacked Omega with various strike attack but Omega still dominated more than half the match. I like the arrogant style and expression of Omega during the match, he really did used his experience to entertain the crowd. That Air-ChainSaw move is hilarious. Omega ended the match after hit Croyt's Wrath to Taguchi.

Chainsaw Attack!!!!

Winner: Kenny Omega [New Champion]

BULLET CLUB (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) (w/ Amber O’Neal) (c) vs. Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata [IWGP Tag Team Championship]

Another Title Match with Bullet club member and for now they are the defending champion. Story about Goto and Shibata is they are a childhood friend and aims top in this industry. The champion dominated from beginning of the match using Anderson as the legal man. Counter attack from challenger came when Shibata was tagged by Goto. Bullet Club dominated again with power from Gallows. At the near end of match both team exchange double team moves and when Anderson got rid from ring Shibata hit a PK to Gallows.

Nice double team move

 Ouch!

Sit like a boss..

Winner: Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata [New Champion]

AJ Styles vs. Tetsuya Naito

AJ Styles, one of the best in ring performer today. Joined NJPW after he left TNA to became leader of Bullet Club replaced Devitt. Naito is high flyer wrestler with good run while in Junior Heavy Weight. The story is Styles broke several wrestler neck in 2014 with his Styles Clash, so can Naito survived it? AJ dominated from the beginning and tried to did Styles Clash quickly, when he failed he attack Naito asset, his knee. Naito did a counter in middle of the match with his many high flying moves, then AJ responded with Calf Killer. AJ won after attempted Styles Clash from second rope.

The Phenomenal One

 Nice DDT

The Real Supeman Punch, sorry Roman...

Winner:  AJ Styles

Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Kota Ibushi [IWGP Intercontinental Championship]

Nakamura,  The King of Stong Style, trained by Great Inoki himself, top tier card in NJWP, unique person, huge charisma and the leader of CHAOS. He is one of the best wrestler that i have seen. Ibushi young wrestler who stepped up to Heavy Weight picture after successful run in Jr.Heavy Weight. This was the best match of the night. Nakamura shown why he the best superstar in NJPW and Ibushi shown he ready to go to top level. Many great move exchanged between two superstar. Ibushi dominated the match when Nakamura tried his best to counter attack. I can't just explain how great this match was, you have to see it yourself. Nakamura won after did a Boma Ye.

The King walk into ring

Nakamura mocking Ibushi

Another mocking

Ibushi perform Triangle Moonsault

Top rope Frankensteiner

Beautiful Spinning Armbar

Winner:  Shinsuke Nakamura

Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Kazuchika Okada [IWGP Heavyweight Championship]

Tanahashi is top face of the promotion, 7 times IWGP Heavyweight Champion (most winner) is the evidence. Okada? If WWE has Rollins (28 yo), ROH has Adam Cole (25 yo) so NJPW have Okada (27 yo) he is the top young heel in the company. Both superstar have meet several times before so they are no stranger to each other. The match itself had a slow pace at the beginning, tense increase since they have brawl outside the ring. Tanahashi hit Frog splash numerous times and Okada reacted with Rainmaker. Near fall after near fall happened, Tanahashi end Okada fight after perform consecutive Frog Splash.
Attitude Adjustment or Roode Bomb maybe...

Okada's Running Uppercut

Kudos to Eddie

Good Sling Blade execution

Tribute to Undertaker

Too Awesome Dropkick

Again, the Frog Splash

Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi

I will give 8.7 from 10 to this event.

See you again in next PPV event, Royal Rumble from WWE
