Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the
guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her
powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First
Order.
The latest installment of Star Wars series. After the good spin-off in Rogue One, the usual space opera is back with it's familiar family. Story start right after their previous movie, Rey meeting with Luke and the Resistance run away from First Order pursue. Story itself split into 2 sub story with Rey searching her meaning to the journey and Dameron/Finn story at the Resistance side, the both story happen at same time but not touching each other until the end of movie. Generally, the plot moving flat, no big thing occur until the midway and increasing in the final third. Luke's comeback to the series bring more nostalgic feel for some of the audience due his absent in the previous one, don't forget to mention the other familiar Jedi Master which was not previously discussed. Like the old character, several new character will also take their part in the story and of course the new creature (Porg dolls will be sold out after this) also, Finn will again gets his new pairing here, so much from former Stromtrooper. From the First Order, the bad-ass red armor guard who body-guarding Snoke named Elite Praetorian Guard is the coolest new character. Cinematography wise, nothing is special except Luke's island and Rey/Kylo fighting scene with the guard, the sound department also not too stunning no unique scoring that memorable here. This film end one important part of the series, it will be interesting to see how the next film work from here considering not much mystery remain. The series will be continued in 2019 before that we will be serve with another spin off about the young Han Solo next year (May 2018).
