Posted in , Edit

"When out-of-shape IT technician Roen woke up and started hearing voices in his head, he naturally assumed he was losing it. He wasn’t. He now has a passenger in his brain – an ancient alien life-form called Tao, whose race crash-landed on Earth before the first fish crawled out of the oceans. Now split into two opposing factions – the peace-loving, but under-represented Prophus, and the savage, powerful Genjix – the aliens have been in a state of civil war for centuries. Both sides are searching for a way off-planet, and the Genjix will sacrifice the entire human race, if that’s what it takes. Meanwhile, Roen is having to train to be the ultimate secret agent. Like that’s going to end up well…"
Goodreads

First book by Wesley Chu, and it's was a great one. Meet with Tao an alien who crushed to earth centuries ago, even before human existed. Tao and his races must attached to the brain of Earth original creatures due unfriendly condition of earth atmosphere if they want to live. Now, Tao attached to a man named Roen, a average guy-bit below average, who complaint all the time about his life.

List as science fiction genre, this book doesn't offer many hi-tech gadgets just an alien and his long age wisdom - who need more gadgets if you have a famous person wisdom. Story pace is little bit fast, with many time skip for sake of Roen progress. Chemistry between the duo will often make you smiled or even laughed, lives for centuries didn't make Tao sound like a old man he just sound like a man (or alien) who fitted to modern culture. It's like two best friend hang or argue each other, only they have one body. Beside main story we also meet with Roen love story which is tragic is the end (..Opppsss !!).

So this book have everything you need, action, secret agent, love, little bit history, and of course an alien. Don't doubt this book or the author, it will exceed your expectation, okay i over do it but i promise you will never be disappointing.

Ready for the sequel, death of Tao (WHAATT !!!!)....

Verdict: *****
